This Sunday is deadline for Mexico City missions trip

Dear Hillcrest Family,

I trust that you are having a great day in the Lord. I am so thankful for His presence in our church and for the opportunities that He affords us to reach people. This week we are making a final appeal for those interested in participating in the upcoming missions trip to Mexico City.

We are partnering with Operation Serve www.operationserve.org which has a ministry to those living in the garbage dumps of Mexico City. If you have never been on a missions trip, or would like to participate in a life-changing experience, this is the trip for you. I have personally taken nine missions teams to Mexico City with Operation Serve, and each one has transformed my life.

The following are some highlights of what to expect:

1. We fly out from DFW on Saturday, June 23rd .

2. When we arrive, we get settled in and have a time of team orientation. We are staying at the San Francisco hotel located in the heart of Mexico City.

3. Each day we get up early in the morning, have a buffet breakfast and meet for devotions prior to heading out for ministry.

4. A bus picks us up at the hotel each day and we head out to either one of the garbage dumps situated outside city limits or we partner with a local church.

5. Once at the site we break up into teams where we assist in various ministries: they include hair cutting, assisting local doctors, optical care, and children’s ministry.

6. We return late evening to the hotel where we stay at rooms that are quite comfortable.

7. We return home on Saturday June 30th .

The total cost is $1250 which includes everything (airfare, lodging, meals) except for what you would spend for souvenirs and personal items.

It is not necessary for you to be skilled in any of the above ministries. Operation Serve offers the training that is needed to assist for that week. There is however a special need for those skilled in cutting hair. If you can assist in this area, it would be a great blessing. We will be one of several teams that ministers that week. This allows us the opportunity to fellowship with other church groups from around the country. If you are interested and have not signed up yet, you can do so by filling out an application located in the kiosk after this Sunday morning’s service, March 18th. I will personally be there to answer any additional questions you may have.

Together For His Service,

Pastor Alvin Miranda

Senior Associate Pastor / Worship Pastor
